OKX has nine VIP tiers, VIP1 to VIP9, which makes ten fee tiers including regular users. The big difference from Binance: meeting either the asset threshold or the 30-day volume threshold is enough, the system assigns the best tier you qualify for every day, and you don't need to hold a platform token or apply. On OKX, 200,000 USD in your account gets you VIP2, cutting the futures taker fee from 0.050% to 0.036% without a single trade.
This guide covers OKX's official VIP1–VIP9 thresholds and spot and futures fees, when snapshots and updates happen, how to reach VIP without trading volume, OKB's role in fees, and what you actually pay with VIP and a rebate combined. OKX VIP thresholds and fees at a glance
The table comes from the OKX fee page (spot from the Standard tab, futures from the Futures tab) and the official guide What's OKX VIP and how do I qualify for it?, checked on 2026-09-28. Assets and volume are in USD; meeting any one threshold is enough.

A negative rate means the exchange pays you when your maker order fills. OKX's live pages prevail, and OKX notes that actual fees and benefits may vary by region.
A few things that are easy to miss:
- Options are a route too: the official guide also lists 30-day options volume, 3M USD for VIP1 and 5M USD for VIP2.
- The asset threshold covers spot and futures: one asset threshold maps to your account-wide VIP tier, so VIP2 reached through assets gives VIP2 rates on both spot and futures. OKX's FAQ says the tier "applies across all trading products, including spot, futures, and options".
- Spot has several tabs: the fee page splits spot into Standard, Stablecoins, TRY pairs and Special fee pairs. This table uses Standard, the one for most coins; see the matching tab for stablecoin and special-fee pairs.
- VIP1 saves little; VIP2 is where it shows: the futures taker fee drops from 0.045% at VIP1 to 0.036% at VIP2, a much bigger step than from regular to VIP1.

How your tier is set: the better of two, snapshotted daily
- Assets or volume, whichever is better: OKX assigns your tier from total account assets or 30-day trading volume, whichever gives the better tier. If your 30-day spot volume meets VIP3 but your assets only meet VIP1, you are VIP3.
- Snapshot and update times: the system takes a snapshot daily at 16:00 UTC and updates tiers between 20:00 and 22:00 UTC.
- Large deposits trigger an immediate review: OKX says "Deposits of USD 1,000 or more trigger an immediate review", so upgrading through assets doesn't always mean waiting a day.
- Sub-accounts are combined: the master account's tier is based on the combined assets and volume of the master and all sub-accounts; sub-accounts inherit the master's tier, and a new sub-account picks it up at 00:00 (UTC+8) the next day.
- Downgrades: if assets or volume no longer meet your current tier, the next day's update adjusts it automatically; the official guides don't list a grace period for trading fees.
- API included: the official FAQ says API users are also covered by the VIP fee structure.

The asset threshold looks at total account assets, with no lock-up or specific coin required. For someone who doesn't trade much but keeps 100,000 to 200,000 USD on the exchange, the asset route alone gets you VIP1 or VIP2 without any trading volume.
Reaching VIP without 30-day volume
Meet the asset threshold
VIP1 needs 100,000 USD, VIP2 needs 200,000 USD, and VIP3 needs 2M USD. The asset bar jumps tenfold from VIP2 to VIP3, so for most individual traders the asset route realistically means VIP1 or VIP2.
Already a VIP elsewhere: let us talk to OKX
OKX also has its own status-match and VIP trial card programs. If you're already a VIP on another exchange or trade in size, contact Quant Nova support: we work directly with OKX's official team to request a VIP tier trial or other perks for you. The tier and duration you actually get are up to OKX. If you signed up on OKX with NOVA888, come to our support for a VIP trial instead of activating a card someone else gives you, which would add a separate referral binding you can't change.
