Bitget has eight VIP tiers, VIP0 to VIP7, and five ways to qualify: 30-day spot volume, 30-day futures volume, 30-day average assets, today's assets, or 30-day average BGB holdings. Meet any one of them and you move up, and the tier applies to spot and futures alike. Few traders notice what that means: 2 million USDT of spot volume gets you futures VIP2, far less than the 10 million USDT of futures volume it would otherwise take. This guide covers Bitget's official tier table, spot and futures maker/taker rates per tier, how each metric is calculated, when levels update, downgrade protection, what to do if you're already VIP elsewhere, and finally what you actually pay once a VIP rate and a rebate are combined.
VIP has to be earned with volume or assets; a rebate works from the day you bind. Through Quant Nova with code NOVA888, new users start at a 40% futures rebate on Lv.1 and 45% on SVIP, 2 to 2.25 times a common 20% code, with 50% at the invitation-only top tier. The two stack: VIP lowers the listed rate, and the rebate returns part of the fee you actually paid.
Quick answers
- VIP1 does nothing for futures takers: the futures taker rate is 0.06% at both VIP0 and VIP1; only maker drops, from 0.02% to 0.019%. Taker falls to 0.04% at VIP2.
- The easiest route to VIP2 is spot volume: 2 million USDT of 30-day spot volume reaches VIP2, and Bitget states that a spot VIP tier applies to futures too.
- Updated daily at 09:00 (UTC+8), with data calculated at 00:00 (UTC+8). Downgrades come with a 14-day protection period, which cannot be triggered back to back.
- Already VIP elsewhere: Bitget has VIP trial and status-match programs; contact Quant Nova support and we'll request one from Bitget's official team for you, subject to Bitget's approval.
- Rebates still apply, with one exception: VIP users with 30-day spot volume of at least 50 million USDT or futures volume of at least 100 million USDT, and an API share of 20% or more, are not eligible for the platform rebate program.
If futures volume is your only route and it is under 10 million USDT a month, VIP barely touches your taker rate; a higher rebate does more than chasing VIP1.
Bitget VIP0 to VIP7 requirements
The figures below come from the official public configuration behind the Bitget fee page, checked on 2026-09-28. Any one condition is enough; Bitget's wording is "VIP threshold (meet any of the following requirements)".
| Tier | 30-day spot volume (USDT) | 30-day futures volume (USDT) | Assets (30-day avg or today, USDT) | 30-day avg BGB |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VIP0 | — | — | — | — |
| VIP1 | ≥ 500K | ≥ 5M | ≥ 30K | ≥ 11,981 |
| VIP2 | ≥ 2M | ≥ 10M | ≥ 50K | ≥ 19,969 |
| VIP3 | ≥ 8M | ≥ 20M | ≥ 250K | ≥ 99,845 |
| VIP4 | ≥ 30M | ≥ 50M | ≥ 750K | ≥ 299,535 |
| VIP5 | ≥ 50M | ≥ 100M | ≥ 2M | ≥ 798,761 |
| VIP6 | ≥ 75M | ≥ 300M | ≥ 5M | ≥ 1,996,904 |
| VIP7 | ≥ 100M | ≥ 1B | ≥ 10M | ≥ 3,993,809 |
Bitget says the BGB thresholds are adjusted dynamically and announced separately; the asset threshold can be met with either the 30-day average or today's balance. As of 2026-09-28; always check the official page.
The gap between spot and futures volume thresholds is large: VIP2 needs one fifth as much spot volume as futures volume, and VIP7 one tenth. Bitget's FAQ says: "If you meet the VIP criteria for any trading category, the same VIP level will apply across all categories. For example, unlocking Spot VIP 1 will also unlock Futures VIP 1." In other words, whichever route gets you there, you get the same tier across every product.
Spot and futures fees by tier
Rates per tier from the same official configuration (USDT-margined futures; regular users, not institutions or market makers):
| Tier | Spot maker | Spot taker | Futures maker | Futures taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VIP0 | 0.10% | 0.10% | 0.02% | 0.06% |
| VIP1 | 0.08% | 0.08% | 0.019% | 0.06% |
| VIP2 | 0.065% | 0.07% | 0.016% | 0.04% |
| VIP3 | 0.05% | 0.06% | 0.014% | 0.0375% |
| VIP4 | 0.04% | 0.05% | 0.012% | 0.035% |
| VIP5 | 0.03% | 0.04% | 0.01% | 0.032% |
| VIP6 | 0.02% | 0.035% | 0.008% | 0.03% |
| VIP7 | 0.00% | 0.03% | 0.00% | 0.02% |
Three things to notice:
- The futures taker break is at VIP2: unchanged from VIP0 to VIP1, then down a third from 0.06% to 0.04%, followed by small steps until 0.02% at VIP7.
- Spot improves at every tier: 0.1% becomes 0.08% at VIP1, and VIP7 spot maker is 0%.
- Rates can differ by coin, period and region: Bitget notes that "Certain coins may not be subject to these fee rates during specific periods, and the fee rates may vary based on your region." Your trade history shows the actual fee.
For the difference between maker and taker, see maker vs taker fees explained.
How each requirement is calculated
Volume: main plus sub-accounts, calculated daily at 00:00
- Spot volume: every day at 00:00 (UTC+8) Bitget totals the past 30 days across the main account and all sub-accounts, including spot stock trades. Volume from pairs with fee discounts is scaled down proportionally before it counts.
- Futures volume: also calculated daily at 00:00 (UTC+8), including stock perps, US stock options and CFDs, with CFDs counted at 10%.
- Zero-fee pairs do not count: "Trading pairs with 0 fees will not be counted toward any upgrade progress."
Assets: 30-day average or today, including CFD and securities accounts
30-day average assets = total assets over the past 30 days ÷ 30, counting crypto, CFD and securities account assets across main and sub-accounts. Today's balance can also qualify.
BGB: a daily snapshot, averaged over 30 days
Bitget snapshots BGB in the main and sub-accounts every day at 00:00 (UTC+8); the 30-day average = total BGB holdings over 30 days ÷ 30. Because it is an average, BGB you buy today has to sit in the account for a while before the average reaches the threshold.
The highest tier wins
Bitget: "Users will be assigned the highest VIP level among those they qualify for." Each of the five conditions maps to a tier, and you get the highest. New sub-accounts inherit the main account's fee rates when created.
Update time and the 14-day protection period
- Updates: VIP levels update automatically every day at 09:00 (UTC+8). Bitget may adjust a level if trading activity triggers risk controls.
- Upgraded through volume: the first downgrade comes with a 14-day protection period.
- Upgraded through assets or BGB: if the downgrade is caused purely by market moves (no withdrawals or loss-making actions on your part), you also get 14 days. If you are not back at your tier or higher when it ends, the downgrade applies immediately. The protection period cannot be triggered consecutively.
VIP runs on rolling 30-day data, so a quiet month drops you back; a rebate counts on every fee from the moment you bind.
Already VIP elsewhere: request a Bitget VIP trial through us
Bitget runs VIP trial passes and status matching for users from other platforms; it also states that your official tier is calculated from volume or assets and ignores trial levels. If you're already a VIP on another exchange or trade in size, contact Quant Nova support: we work directly with Bitget's official team to request a VIP tier trial or other perks for you. The tier and duration you actually get are up to Bitget.
BGB discount and VIP are separate things
BGB plays two roles on Bitget that are easy to mix up:
- As a VIP requirement: hold the 30-day average in the table and you move up, with that tier's rates on spot and futures.
- As a fee discount: with BGB deduction on, spot and margin fees paid in BGB are 20% cheaper (Bitget's public endpoint returns 0.2, checked 2026-09-28). Spot fees come from available BGB in the spot account, margin fees from the cross margin account; if BGB runs short, the full fee is charged in the trading coin; the setting takes effect in about 5 minutes. Futures are not covered by BGB deduction.
Both can apply at once: VIP2 spot taker is 0.07%, and 0.056% with BGB deduction.
How rebates work after you reach VIP: effective rates
Bitget's affiliate FAQ spells out the formula: "Rebate = net fees × rebate ratio, where net fees = fees – deducted fees" (Bitget affiliate program). The rebate is based on the fee you actually paid. VIP lowers the listed rate and the rebate is paid on that lower rate, so:
Effective rate = VIP tier rate × (1 − rebate ratio)
Using Bitget's official futures taker rates and Quant Nova futures rebates (Lv.1 40%, SVIP 45%):
| Scenario | Listed taker | Calculation | Effective taker |
|---|---|---|---|
| VIP0, no rebate | 0.06% | — | 0.06% |
| VIP0 + common 20% code | 0.06% | 0.06% × (1 − 20%) | 0.048% |
| VIP0 + Lv.1 40% | 0.06% | 0.06% × (1 − 40%) | 0.036% |
| VIP2, no rebate | 0.04% | — | 0.04% |
| VIP2 + Lv.1 40% | 0.04% | 0.04% × (1 − 40%) | 0.024% |
| VIP3 + SVIP 45% | 0.0375% | 0.0375% × (1 − 45%) | about 0.0206% |
| VIP5 + SVIP 45% | 0.032% | 0.032% × (1 − 45%) | 0.0176% |
| VIP7, no rebate | 0.02% | — | 0.02% |
For spot takers, add the BGB discount: VIP0's 0.1% becomes 0.08% with BGB and 0.048% after a 40% Lv.1 rebate; VIP2's 0.07% becomes 0.056% with BGB and 0.0336% after 40%.
In money: 10 million USDT of futures in a month, all taker, lands exactly on VIP2. At VIP0 rates that would cost 6,000 USDT; at VIP2 it costs 4,000 USDT. That 4,000 USDT of fees puts you on Quant Nova Lv.5 (44%), which returns 1,760 USDT, so you pay 2,240 USDT, about 0.0224%. At the same VIP2 a common 20% code returns 800 and you pay 3,200 USDT.
That is the core difference: VIP needs 30 days of volume before the rate drops, while a rebate counts every trade from the day you bind. These are estimates from official listed rates; your trade history and rebate statement are what count. Quant Nova tiers follow your last 30 days of fees (XP), applied at the tier you hold when each fee is generated; see how rebate tiers and XP work.
When VIP and rebates do not stack
- High volume plus a high API share: Bitget's fee page says VIP users with 30-day spot volume of at least 50 million USDT or futures volume of at least 100 million USDT, and API trading at 20% or more of the total, are not eligible for the platform rebate program. Those are exactly the VIP5 volume thresholds, so API-heavy and quant traders should take note.
- PRO and market makers: Bitget PRO rules state that PRO and market maker users are not eligible for other fee discounts or rebates on the platform; their fees follow a separate grouping.
- VIP rules cover non-institutional users only: "The Bitget VIP system and its rules apply exclusively to non-institutional users."
Manual traders, and VIP users whose API share is below 20%, fall outside these exceptions and keep earning rebates on the fees they pay.
Which route to VIP makes sense?
- Mostly futures, a few million USDT a month: VIP1 (5 million in futures) leaves taker unchanged. If you also trade spot, 2 million USDT of spot volume brings futures VIP2 and its 0.04% taker.
- Large balance, little trading: 50,000 USDT in assets (30-day average or today) reaches VIP2, the one route to a lower taker rate without volume.
- Long-term BGB holders: a 30-day average of 19,969 BGB means VIP2; the threshold changes with announcements, so check the official page first.
- Already VIP elsewhere: contact Quant Nova support and we'll request a VIP tier trial or other perks from Bitget's official team for you, subject to Bitget's approval.
Whichever route you take, the rebate is a separate layer. Bitget's two-layer rebate, VIP0 rates and rebate amounts at different volumes are in the Bitget fee rebate guide; a side-by-side of VIP thresholds at eleven exchanges is in crypto exchange VIP fees compared.
