Most traders never leave VIP0. The bar for VIP1 varies enormously across the 11 exchanges: from 2,000 USD in assets on Gate and 20,000 USDT of 30-day spot volume on XT.COM, all the way to 10M USD of 30-day derivatives volume on Bybit and 10M USDT for MEXC Alpha A1. And on Binance, Gate, Bitget and Ourbit, reaching VIP1 doesn't change the futures taker fee at all. If your volume is modest, picking a high-rebate referral code lowers your fees more than chasing VIP. VIP and rebates usually stack, because the rebate is calculated on the fees you actually pay. There are official exceptions, though: Bybit's Pro tiers don't apply to affiliate/referral users; Bitget VIP users with 30-day spot volume ≥ 50M USDT or futures volume ≥ 100M USDT and an API trading share ≥ 20% are not eligible for the platform rebate policy; and WEEX states VIP perks can't be combined with other discounts, without saying whether referral rebates count, so check before you bind.
The numbers make it clearest: on the same 500 USDT of monthly fees, a common 20% referral code returns 100 USDT; bind through Quant Nova and the no-threshold Lv.1 already returns 200 on Bitget (2×), 250 on MEXC (2.5×) and 300 on Gate (3×) — no volume requirement at all. Below we go through each of the 11 exchanges' VIP tiers, upgrade requirements, futures fees per tier and platform-token discounts, plus the net fee once VIP and rebates are stacked.
Quick answer
- Thresholds: for futures-focused traders, VIP1 takes 30-day futures volume of 200,000 USDT on XT.COM, 3M USDT on Pionex, 5M on OKX/Binance/Bitget/Ourbit and 10M on Bybit and MEXC; Gate counts futures at 40% of weighted volume, so pure futures reaches VIP1 at about 150,000 USD.
- VIP1 saves very little: on Binance, Gate, Bitget and Ourbit the VIP1 futures taker is the same as VIP0, with only a small maker cut; OKX goes from 0.05% to 0.045%, Bybit from 0.055% to 0.04%.
- Rebates work immediately: on Gate, a Lv.1 60% rebate brings the net futures taker to 0.02%, lower than the 0.022% of VIP14, Gate's top tier for regular users.
- They stack: net fee = VIP fee × (1 − rebate rate). Once your volume is large enough to level up, taking VIP and the rebate together is the best deal.

Checked on 2026-09-27; the live figures on each exchange's official pages prevail. · Methodology
A few things that are easy to misread:
- XT.COM's VIP0 futures fee: the official tier table says 0.02%/0.06%, but most contracts (including BTC_USDT) actually charge 0.04%/0.06%. Go by the fee shown on the trading pair's page before you place an order.
- MEXC has switched to Alpha Trader: the old VIP page redirects to Alpha Trader, whose tiers A1–A7 depend only on 30-day volume (spot, futures, API, zero-fee and sub-account volume all count), and VVIP eligibility (M-Score ≥ 800) is also required. The fee column on that page shows the logged-in user's own fee; no tier-by-tier schedule is published.
- HTX futures verified only for Prime0: the tier-by-tier futures table requires logging in; the figures in an old public 2022 announcement don't match today's Prime0 0.06%, so we don't use them. HTX's public ladder lists a single volume threshold per tier and doesn't say whether it means spot or futures.
- WEEX confirmed for VIP0 only: the tier table is loaded by an encrypted front-end interface, so we couldn't retrieve thresholds or per-tier fees this time and mark them all "not officially disclosed".
- Pionex's spot thresholds have no unit: the official config file lists spot volume only as 20, 30, 75…, with no unit, and we don't guess.
- Binance's "and/or": the header reads "30D Trade Volume (USD) and/or BNB Balance", but every row is written "≥ X USD and ≥ Y BNB"; we present it as listed.
For the difference between maker and taker, see maker vs taker fees explained; for all 11 exchanges' rebate rates and referral codes, see the rebate rates data page.
How VIP thresholds work: volume, assets and platform tokens
The 11 exchanges' upgrade conditions fall into three broad types. Most are "meet any one", and only Binance lists volume together with a BNB balance.
Volume: almost always a rolling 30 days
- Spot and futures counted separately: Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Pionex and XT.COM each have separate spot and futures volume ladders; meeting either one is enough.
- Combined and weighted: Gate uses a single weighted total — spot (including Convert) and stocks count in full, futures × 40%, USD1 futures × 20%, options × 20%, CFDs × 10%. So the 60,000 USD VIP1 threshold works out to about 150,000 USD of pure futures.
- Everything added up: MEXC Alpha Trader sums spot, futures, API, zero-fee and sub-account volume, but the threshold for zero-fee volume is higher (30M USDT for A1).
- What counts: Binance futures volume includes USDⓈ-M and COIN-M futures; spot volume includes spot, margin, Convert, copy trading and trading bots.
Assets: total or average
- OKX and Bybit both set the VIP1 asset threshold at 100,000 USD; Bitget, XT.COM and Ourbit at 30,000 USDT; Pionex at 50,000 USDT; HTX looks at previous-day total assets of 5,000 USDT; Gate is the lowest at 2,000 USD.
- Bitget accepts 30-day average assets or daily assets; XT.COM accepts current assets or 30-day average assets; Pionex uses 30-day average total assets.
Platform-token holdings
- Binance: every tier lists a BNB balance — 5 BNB for VIP1, 5,500 BNB for VIP9.
- Gate: uses 14-day average GT holdings, 50 GT for VIP1.
- Bitget: uses 30-day average BGB holdings, 11,981 BGB for VIP1; the threshold is adjusted by official announcement.
- WEEX: WXT holdings are one of four metrics, taking the lowest of three daily snapshots.
- Bybit: MNT gets an extra asset weighting multiplier that counts toward the VIP asset threshold.
Update times and downgrade protection
- Bitget updates tiers daily at 09:00 (UTC+8); XT.COM daily at 11:00 (UTC+8); WEEX daily at 02:00 (UTC+8); Pionex daily at 01:30 (UTC); Ourbit daily between 00:00 and 08:00 (UTC+8); Gate upgrades take effect within 3 hours.
- On Gate, a tier earned through volume is kept for 60 days, then drops one tier every 15 days; tiers earned through assets or GT have no such protection. XT.COM keeps futures tiers for 90 days. Ourbit's retention period is 5 days for VIP1 and 20 days for VIP Supreme. MEXC checks for downgrades on the 1st of each month at 16:00 (UTC).
VIP trials and tier matching
- Trials: Bybit's VIP trial card, handed out through campaigns, gives VIP1 fees first and must be claimed within 30 days; Bitget users with 15,000 USDT in assets can claim a VIP trial voucher; Pionex users with 30,000 USDT or more can claim a 30-day VIP trial; XT.COM also offers VIP trials.
- Tier matching: Gate, Bitget, MEXC, Pionex, WEEX, XT.COM, HTX and Ourbit all accept applications to match your VIP status from another exchange. Bitget and MEXC state they match one tier higher; Gate's page says "2-tier higher privileges"; Pionex gives a one-month trial at the same tier; WEEX lets you reapply 30 days after a rejection; Ourbit grants 30 days of VIP experience once approved.
- Limited-time offers: on 2026-09-21 HTX announced "Direct Prime 5 Access: 5x TradFi Trading Volume for Up to 90 Days"; the official announcement's terms apply.
VIP thresholds look at your volume or assets over the past 30 days, so when your volume drops, your tier goes back down. A referral-code rebate applies to every fee from the moment you bind, and doesn't disappear just because you traded less this month.
Can VIP discounts and rebates stack? Net fee worked examples
Yes, and the math is simple: VIP sets your listed fee, and the rebate returns part of the fee you actually pay. Net fee = VIP fee × (1 − rebate rate). VIP lowers the fee, the rebate is paid on that lower fee, and the two layers don't conflict. For what makes up a rebate, see automatic vs extra rebates.
The examples below use each exchange's official futures taker fee and Quant Nova rebate rates (Lv.1 has no threshold; SVIP is the highest tier reachable by trading):
| Exchange | Scenario | Calculation | Net taker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Binance | VIP0, no rebate | 0.05% | 0.05% |
| Binance | VIP0 + common 20% code | 0.05% × (1 − 20%) | 0.04% |
| Binance | VIP0 + Lv.1 30% | 0.05% × (1 − 30%) | 0.035% |
| Binance | VIP0 + SVIP 35% | 0.05% × (1 − 35%) | 0.0325% |
| Binance | VIP2 (futures volume ≥ 10M USD, ≥ 25 BNB), no rebate | 0.04% | 0.04% |
| Binance | VIP3 (futures volume ≥ 50M USD, ≥ 100 BNB), no rebate | 0.032% | 0.032% |
| Binance | VIP3 + SVIP 35% | 0.032% × (1 − 35%) | 0.0208% |
| OKX | VIP0 + 20% | 0.05% × (1 − 20%) | 0.04% |
| OKX | VIP1, no rebate | 0.045% | 0.045% |
| OKX | VIP1 + 20% | 0.045% × (1 − 20%) | 0.036% |
| Bitget | VIP0 + Lv.1 40% | 0.06% × (1 − 40%) | 0.036% |
| Bitget | VIP0 + SVIP 45% | 0.06% × (1 − 45%) | 0.033% |
| Bitget | VIP2 (futures volume ≥ 10M USDT), no rebate | 0.04% | 0.04% |
| Bitget | VIP2 + Lv.1 40% | 0.04% × (1 − 40%) | 0.024% |
| Bybit | VIP0 + Lv.1 30% | 0.055% × (1 − 30%) | 0.0385% |
| Bybit | VIP1 (derivatives volume ≥ 10M USD), no rebate | 0.04% | 0.04% |
| Bybit | VIP1 + Lv.1 30% | 0.04% × (1 − 30%) | 0.028% |
| Gate | VIP0 + Lv.1 60% | 0.05% × (1 − 60%) | 0.02% |
| Gate | VIP14 (weighted volume ≥ 800M USD), no rebate | 0.022% | 0.022% |
| Ourbit | VIP0 + Lv.1 60% | 0.04% × (1 − 60%) | 0.016% |
| Ourbit | VIP Supreme (futures volume ≥ 200M USDT), no rebate | 0.0252% | 0.0252% |
See the pattern? Binance VIP0 with Lv.1 comes to 0.035%, already below the 0.04% of VIP2 without a rebate — and VIP2 takes 10M USD of 30-day futures volume plus 25 BNB. Although OKX can only be advertised at 20%, its bound VIP0 rate of 0.04% is still lower than unbound VIP1 at 0.045%. Bybit VIP0 bound comes to 0.0385%, likewise below VIP1, which needs 10M of derivatives volume. Ourbit VIP0 bound at Lv.1 comes to 0.016%, below even its top tier, VIP Supreme, at 0.0252% without a rebate. Until your volume is big enough to level up, the rebate rate affects your net fee far more than VIP does.
In money: 1M USD of futures a month
Assume 1M USD of futures volume in a month, all taker:
- Binance: this volume stays at VIP0, so fees are 1,000,000 × 0.05% = 500 USDT. A common 20% code returns 100; Quant Nova Lv.1 (30%) returns 150. Reaching VIP2, where taker is lower, would take 10 times the volume.
- Gate: futures count at 40%, so weighted volume is 400,000 USD, which lands in VIP3 (≥ 240,000). Taker falls from 0.05% to 0.048% and fees go from 500 to 480 USDT — VIP saves just 20 USDT. The Lv.1 60% rebate then returns 288 USDT of that 480, for a net cost of 192 USDT.
On the same 1M USD of volume, Gate's VIP upgrade saves 20 USDT while the rebate returns 288 USDT. The smaller the volume, the wider that gap. Only once monthly volume reaches tens of millions does the VIP cut start to matter, and then taking both is best; for full worked examples at large volume, see fee rebates for high-volume traders.
Official exceptions where they don't fully stack
- Bybit: the official wording is "Pro status does not apply to Affiliate and Referral users" — even if more than 20% of your volume is via API, users linked through an affiliate/referral relationship don't get Pro tiers, and fees follow the corresponding VIP tier. Regular VIP0–5 and Supreme VIP are unaffected.
- Bitget: VIP users with 30-day spot volume ≥ 50M USDT or futures volume ≥ 100M USDT and an API trading share ≥ 20% are officially not eligible for the platform rebate policy. Manual trading or an API share below 20% is not affected.
- WEEX: the VIP page says "VIP perks cannot be combined with other discounts. The best discount will be applied." It doesn't say whether referral rebates count as "other discounts", so check with WEEX or Quant Nova support before binding.

VIP rules at the 11 exchanges: key points
Binance
Regular plus VIP1–VIP9 makes 10 tiers, each listing "30-day volume and BNB balance"; the futures maker fee falls to 0% at VIP9. The VIP1 futures taker is still 0.05% and only drops to 0.04% at VIP2; Binance also lists other VIP routes such as holdings, loans and referrals. Source: Binance futures fee page, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: Binance exchange profile.
OKX
Regular plus VIP1–VIP9, qualifying by either assets or 30-day volume; the asset threshold is shared by spot and futures (100,000 USD for VIP1). From VIP7 up, maker fees are negative. Source: OKX fee page, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: OKX exchange profile.
Bybit
VIP0–VIP5, Supreme VIP and Pro1–Pro6. VIP4 and above and Supreme require API volume ≤ 20%, while Pro is for users with API volume > 20%; Bybit also notes actual fees may vary by region. The MNT discount doesn't apply to market makers, institutions, Pro or API users. Source: Bybit VIP Program introduction, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: Bybit exchange profile.
Gate
Regular users top out at VIP14; VIP15/16 are automatically converted to advanced institutional users. Meeting any one of volume, 14-day average GT or total assets is enough, and futures volume counts at 40%. Source: Gate fee page, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: Gate exchange profile.
Bitget
VIP0–VIP7, qualifying by any of spot volume, futures volume, assets or BGB holdings; the VIP rules apply only to non-institutional users. High-volume VIP users with an API share ≥ 20% are not eligible for the rebate policy. Source: Bitget fee page, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: Bitget exchange profile.
MEXC
VIP has been replaced by Alpha Trader A1–A7: reaching a tier's threshold with either standard-fee or zero-fee volume qualifies, and VVIP eligibility is also required. Benefits come as "zero-fee quota", with no public tier-by-tier fee table. The MX discount is 20% according to the official public endpoint. Source: MEXC Alpha Trader, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: MEXC exchange profile.
Pionex
VIP0–VIP10, qualifying by any one of spot volume, futures volume or average assets, updated daily; on spot only the maker fee falls with tier, and taker is 0.05% at every tier. Fixed-fee products such as stock spot, leveraged tokens and the innovation zone are excluded from VIP discounts. Source: Pionex official VIP guide, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: Pionex exchange profile.
XT.COM
VIP0–VIP7 plus Premium VIP. The VIP1 futures volume threshold of 200,000 USDT is the lowest among exchanges that list a separate futures volume threshold. Note that the tier table's VIP0 futures maker of 0.02% differs from the 0.04% most contracts actually charge. Source: XT.COM fee page, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: XT.COM exchange profile.
HTX
Prime0–Prime11, qualifying by either volume or previous-day total assets; Prime10 and 11 can only be reached through volume. With HTX deduction turned on, the current Prime fee gets a further 25% off — HTX's own example is spot Prime2 going from 0.14% to 0.105%. Source: HTX fee page, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: HTX exchange profile.
WEEX
Your tier is the highest of four metrics — futures volume, WXT holdings, average assets and spot volume — updated daily at 02:00 (UTC+8); so far only VIP0 futures at 0.02%/0.08% could be confirmed. VIP perks can't be combined with other discounts, and WEEX doesn't say whether that includes referral rebates. Source: WEEX VIP Program, checked on 2026-09-27. More details: WEEX exchange profile.
Ourbit
VIP0–VIP3 plus VIP Supreme make 5 tiers, qualifying by either total equity or 30-day futures volume: VIP1 takes 30,000 USDT in equity or 5M USDT of futures volume, and futures volume on USDC/USDT pairs and stablecoins doesn't count. VIP1 only cuts the maker fee (0.02% → 0.016%) while taker stays at 0.04%, and VIP Supreme is 0.008%/0.0252%; Ourbit notes fees may vary by region, and OUR can offset futures fees at a discount rate shown only after login. Bind a rebate first or chase VIP first?
- Monthly futures volume under 3M: Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, MEXC, Pionex and Ourbit are all still out of VIP1 reach; where you can reach it, Gate's VIP1 futures fee equals VIP0, and XT.COM's taker only drops from 0.06% to 0.054%. Bind with a high-rebate referral code first and you see the effect immediately.
- Monthly futures volume in the tens of millions: the VIP cut starts to be noticeable, but the rebate is still paid on the lower fee, so take both; watch out for the API-related exceptions at Bitget and Bybit.
- Holding platform tokens: BNB, BGB, MX, XT, HTX, OUR and similar discounts are a separate layer, calculated apart from VIP and rebates.
VIP has to be "paid for" with volume or assets; a rebate only needs the right referral code when you sign up. Use NOVA888 for Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, XT.COM and Ourbit, mexc-NOVA888 for MEXC, QUANTXXX for Gate and Pionex, lowercase quantxxx for WEEX and lowercase quant for HTX.
After signing up, bind your UID on the rebate platform (Quant Nova); for how tiers go up, see how rebate tiers and XP work.
FAQ
Do I need to chase VIP if my volume is small?
Usually not. For futures-focused traders, VIP1 at most exchanges takes several million to 10M USD of 30-day futures volume, and on Binance, Gate, Bitget and Ourbit the futures taker doesn't change at VIP1. Binding a high-rebate referral code first cuts your net fee more — for example, Gate Lv.1 with a 60% rebate brings the net taker to 0.02%.
Does VIP affect my rebate?
In most cases it doesn't cancel the rebate; the rebate is simply calculated on the lower post-VIP fee. There are three official exceptions: Bybit Pro tiers don't apply to affiliate/referral users; high-volume Bitget VIP users with an API share ≥ 20% are not eligible for the rebate policy; and WEEX states VIP perks can't be combined with other discounts, without saying whether that includes referral rebates.
Which exchange makes VIP1 easiest?
By assets, it's Gate: 2,000 USD in total assets or a 14-day average of 50 GT gets you VIP1, but VIP1 futures fees are the same as VIP0. By futures volume, XT.COM lists the lowest threshold at 200,000 USDT over 30 days, with futures taker dropping from 0.06% to 0.054%; Gate also reaches VIP1 at about 150,000 USD of pure futures, but the fee doesn't change. HTX Prime1 takes 30,000 USDT of volume or 5,000 USDT in assets, but its tier-by-tier futures fees aren't officially disclosed. Ourbit takes 30,000 USDT in total equity or 5M USDT of 30-day futures volume, and VIP1 only lowers the maker fee; taker stays at 0.04%.
Can platform-token discounts and rebates be used together?
Yes. According to Quant Nova's rebate data notes, VIP tiers and platform-token discounts both stack on top of the rebate, and the rebate is calculated on the fees you actually pay. Note that Bybit's MNT discount doesn't apply to market makers, institutions, Pro or API users.
How often are VIP tiers updated?
Mostly daily, based on rolling 30-day data: Bitget at 09:00, XT.COM at 11:00 and WEEX at 02:00 (all UTC+8), Pionex daily at 01:30 (UTC), and Ourbit daily between 00:00 and 08:00 (UTC+8). On Gate, a tier earned through volume is kept for 60 days, and XT.COM keeps futures tiers for 90 days.
Why is the OKX rebate listed at only 20%?
OKX's affiliate policy only allows 20% to be advertised publicly, so every example here uses 20%; ask support about extra offers.
