Binance has 10 fee tiers: Regular plus VIP1–VIP9. Unlike most exchanges, where volume or assets alone can qualify you, every row of Binance's official fee table reads "30-day trade volume and BNB balance": volume without enough BNB will not move your tier. And once you reach VIP1, the taker fee on both spot and USDⓈ-M futures is still the same as a regular user's. On Binance, VIP only makes taker orders cheaper from VIP2 on futures and VIP3 on spot.
This guide covers Binance's full official tier table, the three routes to VIP (Trader, Holder and Borrower), when tiers update, how BNB is counted, and what you actually pay once VIP and a fee rebate are combined. Before you reach VIP2, binding code NOVA888 through Quant Nova gives new users a 30% rebate at Lv.1, which cuts the effective futures taker fee from 0.05% to 0.035%, lower than the 0.04% a VIP2 pays without a rebate.
Key points
- Two conditions to level up: the Trader route needs 30-day volume plus a daily average BNB balance. VIP1 is 1M USD spot or 5M USD futures, plus 5 BNB.
- VIP1 and VIP2 mostly cut maker fees: the spot taker fee stays at 0.100% through VIP2; the futures taker fee is still 0.050% at VIP1 and drops to 0.040% at VIP2.
- Volume isn't the only route: holding 100,000 USDT in assets (Holder) or borrowing 100,000 USDT (Borrower) can also get you VIP; if you're already a VIP elsewhere, Quant Nova support can request a Binance VIP tier trial for you.
- Updated daily at 08:00 UTC; BNB is measured as the average holding over the previous day (00:00–24:00), and sub-accounts count.
- VIP and rebates stack: the rebate is calculated on the fees you actually pay, so a lower VIP rate still earns a rebate.
Binance VIP tier table: thresholds, spot and futures fees
Figures come from the Binance spot fee page and the official public endpoints behind Binance's fee pages (one for spot, one for USDⓈ-M futures), checked on 2026-09-28. Futures rates are for USDT-margined perpetuals.

List rates before any BNB discount; Binance's live pages prevail.
Three things to keep in mind when reading the table:
- "and", not "or": the spot table header says "30D Trade Volume (USD) and/or BNB Balance", but every row from VIP1 to VIP9 reads "≥ X USD and ≥ Y BNB"; only the Regular row uses "or". Binance's VIP guide also lists a daily average BNB balance as a requirement of the Trader route.
- Spot and futures are two separate ladders: futures thresholds are higher (5× spot at VIP1, 2× at VIP2), and meeting either one (plus BNB) is enough. Binance states that "VIP fees and benefits gained from any VIP program will apply universally to all Binance products", so a tier earned through spot volume also applies to futures.
- What counts as volume: spot volume includes Spot, Margin, Convert, Copy Trading and Trading Bots; futures volume includes USDⓈ-M and COIN-M futures.

Three routes to VIP: volume isn't the only way
In How to Become a Binance VIP?, Binance lists several VIP sub-programs; the three below depend only on your own volume, assets or borrowing, and meeting any one of them gives you a VIP tier:
| Route | Minimum requirement (VIP1) | Daily average BNB | Validity (as stated) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trader VIP | 30-day volume of 1M USD spot, 5M USD futures or 200,000 USD OTC | ≥ 5 BNB | Updated daily |
| Holder VIP | 100,000 USDT average assets over 30 days, or 100,000 USDT the previous day | ≥ 5 BNB | Ongoing |
| Borrower VIP | 100,000 USDT average borrowing over 30 days (Crypto Loans, VIP Loans; margin liabilities counted at 0.2×) | ≥ 25 BNB | Updated daily |
Holder: assets alone can get you to VIP1
The Holder route counts assets across your Spot, Funding, Margin, Futures, Options and Alpha accounts. For someone who trades little but keeps 100,000 USDT or more on the exchange, it is the most direct path, though it still needs a 5 BNB daily average. The official guide only lists the VIP1 minimum and doesn't publish Holder thresholds for each tier.
Borrower: 25 BNB required
The Borrower route uses your 30-day average borrowing, and margin liabilities count at only 0.2×, so 100,000 USDT borrowed on margin counts as 20,000. This route asks for 25 BNB, more than the others.
If you qualify under several routes, Binance says "your VIP level will reflect the highest level you meet": you get the best tier you reach, and the routes don't cancel each other out.
Already a VIP elsewhere: let us talk to Binance
Binance also runs an invitation-based program (Invited VIP) for large traders from other platforms; it doesn't require BNB, but the upgrade is time-limited. If you're already a VIP on another exchange or trade in size, contact Quant Nova support: we work directly with Binance's official team to request a VIP tier trial or other perks for you. The tier and duration you actually get are up to Binance.
