Bybit has the most complex VIP system of the three big exchanges: VIP0–VIP5, Supreme VIP, plus a separate Pro1–Pro6 track for API traders, 13 tiers in all. The upside is that you only need to meet one of six criteria: assets, borrowing, spot, derivatives, options or structured products. And on Bybit, VIP1 cuts the futures taker fee from 0.055% to 0.040%, a drop that VIP1 on Binance or OKX doesn't come close to.
This guide covers Bybit's full official criteria and fees, how volume is counted, when tiers update and the 14-day grace period, ways to VIP perks without waiting 30 days, MNT's fee discount and asset multiplier, and the Pro exception every referral user should know about. Bind code NOVA888 through Quant Nova and new Bybit users get 30% back at Lv.1, cutting the effective VIP0 futures taker fee from 0.055% to 0.0385%, lower than the 0.040% a VIP1 pays without a rebate.
VIP, Supreme VIP and Pro: three tracks
- VIP0–VIP5: the main ladder, reached through assets, borrowing or volume. From VIP4 up, every volume criterion carries the condition "API trading volume ≤ 20%".
- Supreme VIP: above VIP5, volume only (100M USD spot, 500M USD derivatives and so on), also with API volume ≤ 20%; there's no asset route.
- Pro1–Pro6: for users whose API volume exceeds 20%, volume only, with lower maker fees than the VIP tier at the same volume threshold.
Put simply, manual traders move up through VIP and Supreme, and API-driven traders through Pro. That split directly affects users who signed up with a referral code, as the "VIP and rebates" section explains.
Bybit VIP criteria
From Introduction to the VIP Program (last updated by Bybit on 2026-07-30), checked on 2026-09-28. In USD; meeting any one column is enough.
| Tier | Asset balance | 30-day avg net borrowing | 30-day spot | 30-day derivatives | 30-day options | Structured products |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VIP1 | ≥ 100K | 50K | ≥ 1M | ≥ 10M | ≥ 5M | ≥ 500K |
| VIP2 | ≥ 250K | 500K | ≥ 5M | ≥ 25M | ≥ 10M | ≥ 1M |
| VIP3 | ≥ 500K | 1M | ≥ 10M | ≥ 50M | ≥ 15M | ≥ 1.5M |
| VIP4 | ≥ 1M | 1.5M | ≥ 25M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 100M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 25M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 2.5M |
| VIP5 | ≥ 2M | 2M | ≥ 50M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 250M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 40M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 4M |
| Supreme VIP | — | — | ≥ 100M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 500M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 100M (API ≤ 20%) | ≥ 10M |
Pro tiers look only at volume, with API volume above 20%: Pro1 is 25M spot or 100M derivatives, Pro2 50M / 250M, Pro3 100M / 750M, Pro4 200M / 1,500M, Pro5 500M / 3,000M, and Pro6 1,000M / 5,000M USD. Bybit's own example: a trader with 250K in assets and 50M in 30-day derivatives volume is placed at VIP3, the better of the two.

The Pro3–Pro6 futures taker rates apply to inverse contracts, expiry futures and the top 72 USDT perpetuals (including BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT); other USDT perpetuals are 0.0320% at Pro3 and 0.0280% at Pro4–Pro6. Fiat pairs (such as USDT/EUR) have a separate fee table; the table above covers crypto pairs only.
How volume is counted: what's in and what's out
- Derivatives volume includes inverse perpetual and expiry, USDT perpetual and expiry, USDC perpetual, options and TradFi perpetuals.
- CFDs are converted: metals and non-oil commodities volume is divided by 60; oil, forex, indices and stocks by 15. Bybit's example: 15M of oil volume counts as 1M of derivatives volume.
- Copy trading, trading bots and sub-accounts all count toward VIP volume; main and sub-accounts are combined, and sub-accounts use the main account's fee rate.
- Funding fees, received or paid, don't count as volume.
- RFQ block trades count only if a trading fee was charged.
- Asset balance = total wallet balance of all accounts, excluding assets staked in Liquidity Mining; net borrowing includes Spot Margin, Launchpool and Crypto Loans.
Update time, grace period and downgrades
- Updated daily at 07:00 UTC; fee changes show up in your account within 5 minutes of the update.
- 14-day grace period: when you no longer meet any VIP criteria, you enter a 14-day grace period with all VIP benefits, fee discounts included; your status is revoked only if you still don't qualify after 14 days. Qualifying again during the grace period resets it to a new 14 days.
- Users on a VIP Trial Card don't get this 14-day protection.
The 14-day grace period means a slow week or two won't cost you your VIP rate right away. That's the most practical difference between Bybit and Binance or OKX, which update daily and don't publish a grace period.

Already a VIP elsewhere: let us talk to Bybit
Bybit also has its own status-match and VIP Trial Card programs (trial card users don't get the 14-day grace period). If you're already a VIP on another exchange or trade in size, contact Quant Nova support: we work directly with Bybit's official team to request a VIP tier trial or other perks for you. The tier and duration you actually get are up to Bybit.
