Depositing to and withdrawing from OKX differs from other exchanges in three ways: its USDT network list includes its own X Layer and a whole set of USDT0 chains but no BEP20; touching a security setting means 24 hours without withdrawals; and TWD C2C trading was switched off for users in Taiwan back in June 2024. This guide uses the OKX Help Center, official announcements and the public data behind the official fee page to cover deposits, withdrawals, wrong deposits, withdrawal security locks and fiat channels. Figures are as of 2026-09-28; fees change in real time, so check the withdrawal page.
If you have not signed up yet: an OKX referral code can only be entered at first registration and cannot be added afterwards. Register OKX with code NOVA888 before you deposit and every trading fee after that earns a 20% auto-rebate.
Key points
| Question | How OKX handles it (as of 2026-09-28) |
|---|---|
| Deposit or withdraw without identity verification? | No; unverified users cannot deposit, withdraw or trade on C2C |
| Cheapest USDT withdrawal network | X Layer (USDT0) and several USDT0 chains, under 0.02 USDT |
| USDT via TRC20 | 1.5 USDT fee, 10 USDT minimum |
| USDT via BEP20 | Not listed among USDT withdrawal networks on the fee page |
| Transfers between OKX users | Instant, free, no blockchain confirmation |
| Password, phone, email or authenticator change | No withdrawals for 24 hours |
| TWD C2C | Users in Taiwan cannot trade TWD on C2C since 2024-06-24 |
Four checks before you deposit
The OKX deposit path is App [Assets] → [Deposit] → coin → network; the same page shows the address, minimum deposit and two confirmation counts. Before sending, check four things:
- Identity verification is done. The Help Center states that unverified users cannot deposit, withdraw or buy and sell on C2C.
- The address is current. Some OKX deposit addresses were updated on 2025-03-27 after a system upgrade; old ones still work, but OKX asks you to confirm the latest address and networks on the deposit page before every transfer, and to update any OKX address saved in another platform's whitelist.
- The amount is above the minimum. In OKX's words, deposits below the minimum shown on the page cannot be credited or refunded.
- One request per transaction. OKX warns that bundling several deposit requests in one transaction means the deposit will not be received.
How many confirmations?
The OKX deposit page lists both "confirmations to credit" and "confirmations to unlock withdrawals". Once the first is met the funds are credited, but until the second is reached they cannot be withdrawn or sold on C2C. OKX's examples: USDT on Tron needs 19 block confirmations, USDT on Ethereum 32. On Layer 2 networks such as Optimism, Base or Arbitrum One, OKX credits based on Layer 2 confirmations plus the final Layer 1 state, so they are not necessarily faster than mainnet. Other networks' counts and minimums are shown only on the logged-in deposit page.
Always fill in the memo (tag)
For coins that use a memo, fill in both the address and the memo. OKX deposit tags are usually 7 to 8 digits, as shown on the page, and OKX warns that a wrong tag or memo may mean funds are lost for good. XRP is the example OKX names. To send a tagged coin to another OKX user, OKX suggests choosing [OKX account] for an internal transfer.
Choosing a USDT network: USDT0, X Layer and the fee table
What stands out on OKX is USDT0. OKX supports USDT0 on X Layer, Unichain, Berachain, Optimism, Arbitrum One, Polygon, Plasma and Monad, and shows it as ordinary USDT in the exchange interface; on-chain, however, USDT and USDT0 are tokens with different contract addresses, so pick the right token and contract when moving funds. The old Wrapped USDT on X Layer is being phased out.
Withdrawal fees read from the data source of the OKX official fee page on 2026-09-28:
| Coin / network | Withdrawal fee | Minimum withdrawal |
|---|---|---|
| USDT - Tron (TRC20) | 1.5 USDT | 10 USDT |
| USDT - Ethereum (ERC20) | 0.48 USDT | 2 USDT |
| USDT - Solana | 0.34 USDT | 2 USDT |
| USDT - TON | 0.028 USDT | 2 USDT |
| USDT - Avalanche C-Chain | 0.044 USDT | 2 USDT |
| USDT - Polygon (USDT0) | 0.012 USDT | 2 USDT |
| USDT - Arbitrum One (USDT0) | 0.0035 USDT | 2 USDT |
| USDT - X Layer (USDT0) | 0.0022 USDT | 0.02 USDT |
| BTC - Bitcoin mainnet | 0.000015 BTC | 0.0001 BTC |
These are live values: earlier the same day the ERC20 fee read 0.59 USDT, and an hour later it was 0.48. OKX itself notes the fee you pay may differ from real-time on-chain costs and the page prompt prevails.
Two practical takeaways:
- TRC20 is no longer the cheap option: withdrawing USDT via TRC20 on OKX costs 1.5 USDT with a 10 USDT minimum, the highest minimum in the table.
- No BEP20 in the USDT withdrawal list: the fee page lists more than a dozen USDT networks, none of them BNB Smart Chain. If you usually move USDT between exchanges on BEP20, check which chain the receiver supports; whether BEP20 deposits work is shown on the OKX deposit page at the time.
None of this matters when sending to another OKX user: choose [OKX user] and enter their linked phone, email, UID or sub-account name. OKX describes this as instant, fee-free and requiring no blockchain confirmation. If an address pasted on the on-chain page is recognised as an OKX address, internal transfer is ticked automatically. Note that if you send to the wrong UID, OKX states it cannot reverse the credit, and a return depends entirely on the recipient.
Wrong deposits: the four cases OKX describes
| Case | What OKX says |
|---|---|
| Missing or wrong memo | Contact live support or submit feedback with the coin, amount, correct and wrong tag and transaction hash; an engineer follows up |
| Incompatible network or coin (e.g. ETH to a BTC address) | You may contact support; no recovery is promised |
| Coin OKX does not support (non-tradable asset) | Some can be self-withdrawn from "non-tradable assets", with the fee paid in USDT; if the button is grey, submit the feedback form |
| Sent to an address not issued by OKX | Contact the platform that owns the address; confirmed transactions generally cannot be reversed and recovery is not guaranteed |

Unlike exchanges that publish recovery fees and timelines, the OKX Help Center does not state recovery fees, processing times or success rates; it only says to contact support. On OKX, checking the network and memo beforehand matters far more than fixing mistakes afterwards.
Withdrawal flow: four statuses, and when you can cancel
An OKX on-chain withdrawal moves through [Withdrawal request] → [Pending] → [Withdrawing] → [Sent]. You can cancel during the first two; once it is "Withdrawing" the data is on-chain and it cannot be cancelled. "Pending" means the system is reviewing and queueing by submission time, with no fixed timeframe published. When the hot wallet is short and funds must be moved from cold storage, OKX says withdrawals can be delayed by up to 24 hours. The app shows the last 90 days of withdrawals; the website lets you view or download the last year.
OKX does not support batch withdrawals. On limits, OKX says your 24-hour crypto withdrawal limit is set by your fee tier rather than your KYC level; on the web, the [24h available limit] appears on the right of the withdrawal page after you pick a coin. For KYC rules across exchanges, see the exchange KYC comparison.
Security locks: what stops withdrawals for 24 hours
| Action or situation | Withdrawal restriction |
|---|---|
| Changing the login password | No withdrawals for 24 hours, lifted automatically |
| Changing phone, Google Authenticator or email | No withdrawals for 24 hours |
| Binding email, phone or authenticator for the first time | No restriction; withdraw or sell right away |
| Adding a whitelist address with "new address lock" on | That address is blocked for 24 hours |
| Just enabled whitelist mode | 24 hours before sending to new addresses or OKX users |
| Withdrawal address flagged as high risk | Withdrawals restricted for 48 hours; C2C and other functions still work |
| Buying via C2C | May trigger a T+N withdrawal hold, lifted automatically |

Before changing your phone or resetting your authenticator, withdraw what you need for the next 24 hours. These locks cannot be lifted early.
Protections you can switch on
- Withdrawal allowlist: once on, you can only withdraw to address-book entries; turning it off needs email and phone verification. The web adds up to 50 addresses at a time, with no overall cap.
- Verification-free addresses (30 days): address-book entries can skip extra verification for 30 days (default) or indefinitely; with no withdrawal in 30 days the status expires, and each successful withdrawal extends it by 30 days. Allowlist and verification-free status are separate settings.
- Large withdrawal protection: set a 24-hour cumulative outflow threshold across channels (10,000 to 10,000,000 USD); anything beyond it requires face verification, covering on-chain withdrawals, C2C sales and API withdrawals. Raising the threshold needs face verification; lowering it does not. KYC-verified main accounts only.
- Passkey: with a passkey linked, a single withdrawal above 10,000 USDT also needs phone/authenticator plus email verification.
- Anti-phishing code: set it under Profile → Security Center → Anti-phishing code, and genuine OKX emails will carry it.

Fiat channels: TWD C2C is gone, so what is left
OKX's fiat entry points are P2P (C2C) trading, marked as zero trading fees, and Buy and Sell via third-party providers, marked with Visa, Mastercard and others. For users in Taiwan, the official information is:
- TWD C2C has stopped: in an announcement dated 2024-06-07, OKX said that from 24 June 2024, users in Taiwan can no longer buy or sell crypto with TWD on OKX C2C; TWD merchant status was removed and deposits refunded.
- Other services continue: the same notice says the suspension only covers TWD; users in Taiwan can still trade C2C in other currencies and keep depositing and withdrawing.
- Third-party channels: the Help Center has a guide to buying crypto in Taiwan via third-party channels (updated 2026-09-15): [Buy] → [Express buy] → choose a payment method and provider. It does not name providers or say whether TWD or cards are supported; the app is the reference.
- General third-party rules: available providers depend on payment method and region, and your region may have none; each provider sets its own limits; selling to a bank account usually takes 1 to 3 working days, and refunds generally 5 to 7 working days.
The restricted locations listed on OKX's Risk and Compliance Disclosure page do not include Taiwan; this is simply what the list says (see the VASP article linked below for the exchange-by-exchange comparison).
C2C in other currencies: trading and dispute rules
- Fees: zero trading fee on C2C; only your bank or payment app may charge.
- Payment window: buyers usually have 30 minutes to pay and tap [I have paid], or the order is cancelled automatically and the completion rate suffers.
- Release window: sellers must release within 15 minutes of confirming payment; if an instant payment is not released in 15 minutes, support contacts the seller.
- Appeals: within 72 hours of the order you can [Appeal] on the order page with video or screenshots, and support responds within 1 hour; after 72 hours, go through live support.
- Seller trying to renegotiate: if the buyer paid the correct amount, support releases manually after 12 hours.
- Name match: if the paying account name does not match the OKX verified name, the buyer's C2C is suspended for 15 days; repeatedly paying other accounts brings a 30-day trading suspension.
- Cancellations (per the English cancellation rules): new users with fewer than 3 completed C2C orders are banned after more than 5 cancellations before payment, or more than 3 after marking paid, in a day; for existing users the limits are 3 and 1. Bans escalate from 15 minutes to 30 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours and the rest of the day, resetting at 00:00.
- Merchant deposit: OKX has Lite, Super and Diamond merchant tiers, with no service fee to become Super or Diamond; verified merchants lodge a deposit whose amount depends on OKX's internal thresholds (no figure is published), refunded when verified status ends.

For users in Taiwan: OKX is not on the FSC register
As of 2026-09-28, OKX is not on Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission list of virtual asset service providers that have completed AML registration (list updated 2026-09-03). The rules, how to check the list and the status of all 11 exchanges are in Taiwan VASP registration and offshore exchanges.
Scam check: verify the sender, and never pay to withdraw
- Copy deposit addresses only from the OKX app or website deposit page, never from DMs, screenshots or group chats.
- Check emails: once your anti-phishing code is set, treat any "OKX email" without it as suspicious. The Help Center lists official senders including noreply@mailer1.okx.com, noreply@mailer2.okx.com, noreply@service2.okx.com and noreply@service3.okx.com.
- Complete C2C trades on the platform only, pay from an account in your verified name, and never cancel after paying.
- Anyone asking you to pay an unfreezing fee, deposit or tax before you can withdraw is running a scam.
When Taiwan's FSC published its VASP register on 2025-09-22, it warned that scam rings lure people into buying virtual assets with promises like "guaranteed profit" and "high return, low risk", then demand an unfreezing fee, deposit or tax before any returns can be withdrawn. How deposits and withdrawals relate to rebates
Rebates are based only on trading fees. Deposits, withdrawals and internal transfers earn nothing, and withdrawal network fees are outside the rebate. What matters is timing: an OKX referral code cannot be added after sign-up, so enter it at registration.
Register OKX with NOVA888 for a 20% auto-rebate; for our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions, contact support. Spot and futures fees and rebate details are in the OKX fee rebate guide; if you already have an account, see the OKX rebind guide.
FAQ
Which network is cheapest for withdrawing USDT from OKX?
On 2026-09-28, the USDT0 chains were cheapest: Plasma, Berachain, Monad, X Layer and Arbitrum One all cost under 0.004 USDT, and X Layer (0.0022 USDT) had a minimum of just 0.02 USDT while most others required 2 USDT; TRC20 was 1.5 USDT with a 10 USDT minimum. Fees change live, and the network must be one the receiver supports.
Can I withdraw USDT via BEP20 on OKX?
On 2026-09-28 the OKX fee page did not list BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) among USDT withdrawal networks. The withdrawal and deposit pages show what is available.
How long after a password change can I withdraw?
24 hours. After changing the login password, phone, Google Authenticator or email, withdrawals are blocked for 24 hours and then resume automatically; first-time binding is not restricted.
Can users in Taiwan buy USDT with TWD on OKX C2C?
No. Per OKX's announcement, users in Taiwan cannot trade TWD on C2C since 2024-06-24. They can still use C2C in other currencies or third-party providers under [Express buy], subject to what the app shows.
Can a wrong-network deposit or missing memo be recovered?
For a missing or wrong memo, contact support with the coin, amount, correct and wrong tag and transaction hash; some unsupported coins can be self-withdrawn from "non-tradable assets" with the fee paid in USDT. OKX does not publish recovery fees or timelines and does not guarantee success.
Do transfers between OKX users cost anything?
No. Choose [OKX user] and enter their phone, email or UID; it is instant and free.
