The three ways people get this wrong
- Submitting without expanding the field. OKX collapses the referral field by default; missing it is almost always a matter of not opening it. It cannot be added afterwards.
- Clicking another referral link mid-signup. Open a second coded link before finishing and the later one overwrites the first. Pick your code and go through that one link end to end.
- Assuming it can be changed later. It cannot. The relationship is written at account creation, and OKX rebinding is considerably more work than registering correctly in the first place.

Why can only 20% be quoted for OKX?
This is not us holding something back — OKX affiliate terms cap what may be advertised publicly. Any channel publicly claiming more than 20% on OKX is either breaching those terms or quoting another exchange's number against OKX. The first case eventually lands on the users bound underneath them: when an affiliate account is actioned, the rebates below it stop.
So our public pages carry 20% and nothing more, with anything beyond it handled individually through support. That is why the table above stops at 20%.
Does the code expire?
No. An OKX referral relationship is written at account creation and holds permanently — not a campaign code, no expiry, no quota.
What changes is the percentage, not the code: tiers move with volume and exchanges revise affiliate policy. The binding itself does not lapse — which also means binding to the wrong party is hard to undo.
Already registered without a code?
An OKX referral code cannot be added after signup, but OKX offers several rebind routes: the official rebind request, a recall-and-rebind after 180 days idle, and KYC release on first closure for non-mainland users.

Why do different sources offer different rebates?
Three things explain most of the gap:
1. Direct partnership versus a resold sub-affiliate
We hold direct, long-term agreements with each exchange. Many codes online belong to individuals operating as sub-affiliates — and affiliate status is reviewed. If that person fails review or is downgraded, the rate their users receive is affected directly. You are bound to them, not to the exchange.
2. Whether they are still around
A common pattern: an individual code promises manual top-ups, pays for a few months, then stops answering. The problem is that a binding is almost impossible to change — you stay locked into a relationship that no longer functions while still paying fees.
3. How much they give back
We pass most of the share to users and rely on the relationship lasting. For OKX specifically, policy prevents publishing the figure — contact support to confirm it.
