Gate Earn Guide 2026: Simple Earn, GUSD, ETH Staking Fees

Gate futures rebate for new users: 60% at Lv.1, up to 70%. Earn pays no rebate; Idle Earn, Simple Earn early redemption, GUSD, ETH staking fee, Dual Investment.

Gate names its Earn products differently from most exchanges: flexible and fixed savings sit under Simple Earn, a no-subscription product is called Idle Earn, and there is also GUSD, Staking (including ETH staking into GTETH), Dual Investment and products reserved for VIPs. This guide sets out the subscription, redemption, interest and payout rules for each, based on Gate's official Earn pages, product FAQs and official API, with rates seen on 2026-09-28 as examples. The APRs on these pages float with the market and product changes; the numbers here only reflect the day we checked, not what you will earn later.

If you trade on Gate, binding with code QUANTXXX through Quant Nova gives new users 60% futures fee rebate at Lv.1 with no threshold, 3 times the common 20% code. Earn itself charges no trading fees; how it relates to rebates is covered further down.

First decide when you might need the money

Before comparing APRs, think about when you may need the funds. Gate's products fall into roughly three groups by how quickly you can get your money back:

FundsProductKey rule
Stay in trading accounts, no subscriptionIdle EarnDaily snapshot of available stablecoin balance, paid T+1; funds stay usable for trading
Redeem anytimeSimple Earn Flexible, GUSD, ETH Staking (GTETH)Flexible pays hourly and auto-compounds; GUSD redeems 1:1 in the original coin with no redemption fee; GTETH can be redeemed for ETH anytime
Locked to maturity (early exit has a cost)Simple Earn FixedEarly redemption forfeits all accrued interest; principal returned in 24 to 48 hours
Locked to maturity (no early exit)Dual InvestmentCannot withdraw before settlement; may be paid in the other coin

Idle Earn: no subscription, funds earn while staying in your account

According to Gate's Idle Earn page, there is no subscription or lock-up:

It is designed for people who want funds to stay ready for trading; Gate says your assets remain available for opening positions and spot trading at any time. The base is the available stablecoin balance, and what counts as available follows the page's rules. The page did not show a specific APR when we checked, so rely on what it shows once enabled.

Simple Earn: flexible compounds hourly, fixed loses all interest if redeemed early

Flexible

Per the FAQ on Gate's Simple Earn page, Simple Earn supports more than 800 cryptocurrencies. Flexible subscriptions work as working capital for the platform's loan business, which is where the yield comes from.

Hourly compounding adds little: 1,000 USDT for 30 days at an assumed 5% earns about 4.110 USDT with simple interest and about 4.118 USDT compounded hourly, less than 0.01 USDT apart. What matters more is that redeeming before the top of the hour costs you that hour, so if you plan to redeem, wait until just past the hour.

Fixed

In money terms: 1,000 USDT in a 30-day fixed product at an assumed 5%, redeemed on day 20, forfeits about 1,000 × 5% ÷ 365 × 20 ≈ 2.74 USDT of interest. You get back 1,000 USDT, and only after 24 to 48 hours. Early redemption of a fixed product returns principal only, not pro-rated interest; if you may need the money, do not lock it.

Rates at our check

On 2026-09-28 the Simple Earn page showed up to 7.50% for USDT, 5.10% for BTC and 6.83% for ETH, all tagged as including extra rewards; open the product to see which amounts and period the extra rewards cover. There was also a 7-day USDT fixed product at 3.80% for VIP3 to VIP14 only.

GUSD and Staking

GUSD

According to Gate's GUSD page, GUSD is a flexible product whose returns come from Gate's ecosystem revenue, Treasury RWAs and yield-bearing assets backed by stablecoins:

On 2026-09-28 the estimated APR was 3.60%.

ETH staking and GTETH: a 6% service fee comes off the rewards

Per Gate's ETH staking page: staking ETH gives you GTETH at 1:1, from as little as 0.00000001 ETH; stake on day D and rewards are paid on D+1, credited daily in GTETH; you can redeem anytime and ETH is credited immediately; orders cannot be cancelled once submitted.

Gate's formula: GTETH return = GTETH holding × daily APR ÷ 365 × (1 − service fee × (1 − discount)). The service fee is 6% of staking rewards, discounted for VIPs. For 10 ETH at the 4.03% estimated APR over a year (assuming the rate stays flat):

TierFee discountEffective fee10 ETH, one year (approx.)
Regular (VIP0 to VIP4)None6%0.3788 ETH
VIP5 to VIP720%4.8%0.3837 ETH
VIP8 to VIP1140%3.6%0.3885 ETH
VIP12 to VIP1460%2.4%0.3933 ETH

In other words, the 4.03% on the page is before the fee; a regular user nets about 3.79%.

Other staking products

Gate's Staking page splits products into Tokenized Staking (GUSD, BTC, ETH, SOL, GT) and Locked Staking (USDT, USDC). On 2026-09-28 the estimated APRs were BTC 2.67%, ETH 4.03%, SOL 5.91%, GT 0.87%, USDT 2.31% to 4.48% and USDC 2.94% to 6.98%. Gate notes that on-chain mechanisms differ, so if you stake on day D, rewards may start on D+1 or D+n, and the estimated APR changes daily with staked principal and returns.

Dual Investment: zero fees, but principal is not protected

Per Gate's Dual Investment page, this is a short-term product involving two cryptocurrencies that Gate says does not protect principal: interest accrues at the agreed rate whether or not the target is hit, but the principal may be converted into the other coin at the target price:

Gate's official Dual Investment API showed, on 2026-09-28, BTC products maturing at 08:00 (UTC), which is 16:00 in Taiwan, with minimums of 2 USDT for Buy Low and 0.00002363 BTC for Sell High, and maturities on every day at the time of our check.

A higher return because the target is close to the market price also means a higher chance of being converted. A high rate is a signal that this product is more likely to settle in the other coin.

VIP-only Earn and tier discounts

VIP status touches Gate Earn in two places: Simple Earn has products limited to VIP3 to VIP14 (at our check a 7-day USDT fixed product at 3.80%), and the Earn menu includes a VIP Wealth Hub; and the ETH staking service fee is discounted from VIP5, up to 60% for VIP12 to VIP14. The Earn pages do not state subscription thresholds for VIP products.

If you are already VIP on another exchange or trade in size, contact Quant Nova support: we work directly with the exchange's official team to seek benefits such as a VIP tier trial for you. Actual benefits are decided by the exchange.

APRs move: 30 days of ETH staking data

Gate's official API publishes a daily APR history for ETH staking. From 2026-08-28 to 2026-09-27 the daily APR moved between 3.90% and 4.17%, and was 4.03% on 27 September. Gate also states that staking APRs change daily and fixed Simple Earn APRs vary daily, while Dual Investment returns change with time to maturity and the target price. Do not project a full year of income from a single day's APR.

Risks: platform, settlement coin, cost of early exit

Official Earn products are only operated inside Gate's app and website. Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission, in its 22 September 2025 press release, warned that scammers lure people with pitches such as "guaranteed profit with no loss" and "high profit, low risk", then demand extra payments such as unfreezing fees, deposits or taxes before returns can be withdrawn. If an "earn" offer asks you to send assets to a person, walk away.

For Taiwan users: Gate is not on the Financial Supervisory Commission's list of registered virtual asset service providers (list dated 2026-09-03). See offshore exchanges and Taiwan's VASP registration.

Earn and fee rebates

On Gate, Earn costs come out of your yield as a service fee (such as the 6% on ETH staking), and Gate states Dual Investment has zero trading fees. Rebates are calculated only on trading fees, so Idle Earn, Simple Earn, GUSD, staking and Dual Investment produce no rebate, and Gate has not published any Earn revenue share. The rebate sits on the trading side: bind Gate with QUANTXXX through Quant Nova and futures pay 60% for new users at Lv.1, 65% at SVIP through trading volume and up to 70% at invitation-only Supernova; spot is 60% at Lv.1 and 65% at SVIP and Supernova. Earn yield and trading rebates are calculated separately, and one account can have both. For tier examples and VIP0 fees see the Gate fee rebate guide; existing account holders see the Gate rebind guide; for Earn rules across eleven exchanges see the exchange Earn comparison.

FAQ

How often does Gate Simple Earn Flexible pay interest?

Hourly. Lent at hour T, you receive that hour's interest at T+1 and it is reinvested automatically; redeem before T+1 and that hour earns nothing.

Can I redeem Simple Earn Fixed early?

Yes, but all accrued interest is lost and principal returns within 24 to 48 hours; early redemption is not available in the last hour before maturity.

What is the difference between Idle Earn and Simple Earn?

Idle Earn needs no subscription: funds stay in your spot, futures and other trading accounts, the available stablecoin balance is snapshotted daily and paid T+1. Simple Earn requires a subscription that moves funds out of trading accounts, and flexible pays hourly.

Is the ETH staking APR what I actually earn?

No. A 6% service fee comes off the rewards (discounted from VIP5), so at a 4.03% estimated APR a regular user nets about 3.79%.

Can Dual Investment lose money?

Yes. Interest accrues at the agreed rate either way, but at maturity you may be converted into the other coin at the target price, and later price moves can leave you below what you put in; assets are also locked until maturity.

Does Gate Earn earn me a fee rebate?

No, because Earn charges no trading fees. Rebates come from trading: with QUANTXXX, futures pay 60% for new users at Lv.1, 65% at SVIP and up to 70% at invitation-only Supernova.

Rules in this guide come from Gate's official Earn pages (Idle Earn, Simple Earn, GUSD, Staking, ETH Staking, Dual Investment) and their FAQs, plus Gate's official API (api.gateio.ws) for lending, Dual Investment and ETH staking rate data. APRs and product lists reflect 2026-09-28 and change with the market and product updates; Gate's live pages prevail. This is information, not investment advice.
